Sicario 3 (2024) – First Trailer chuong

The shadows return in Sicario 3 (2024) — officially titled “Sicario: Capos” — the long-awaited third entry in the acclaimed crime-thriller saga. The first trailer has dropped, and it’s as intense, haunting, and morally complex as fans hoped. Directed by Stefano Sollima (Sicario: Day of the Soldado), the film dives deeper into the brutal world of cartel warfare, vengeance, and the blurred lines between justice and corruption.

The trailer opens with a chilling montage of desolate desert landscapes and drone footage of border crossings, underscored by a heartbeat-like score from Hildur Guðnadóttir, setting an atmosphere of dread and urgency. A single voice — Alejandro (Benicio del Toro) — mutters:

“You can’t kill the system… but you can make it bleed.”

From that moment, the tone is clear: Sicario 3 is not just about the war on drugs — it’s about the war for the soul of those fighting it.

Benicio del Toro returns as Alejandro Gillick, the silent assassin driven by vengeance and justice in equal measure. This time, he’s hunted by both cartels and the U.S. government after the events of Sicario: Day of the Soldado. Forced into hiding, Alejandro discovers a new generation of cartel leaders — “the Capos” — who’ve taken the war to a global scale, using digital surveillance, political infiltration, and private armies to control both sides of the border.

Josh Brolin also reprises his role as Matt Graver, the hardened CIA operative now disillusioned with the agency’s methods. The trailer teases a tense reunion between Graver and Alejandro, where alliances are uncertain and trust is a luxury neither can afford. “You’ve gone rogue,” Graver tells him. Alejandro’s cold response:

“Maybe that’s what it takes to end this.”

The most surprising reveal in the trailer comes with the introduction of Emily Blunt’s return as Kate Macer, marking her first appearance since the original Sicario (2015). The trailer shows brief glimpses of her character — older, battle-scarred, and deeply conflicted — suggesting she’s been drawn back into the fight, perhaps as the film’s moral compass amidst the chaos.

Visually, Sicario 3 maintains the franchise’s trademark realism and stark cinematography — blending night vision sequences, gritty shootouts, and quiet, suspenseful moments. The trailer features a jaw-dropping ambush scene in Mexico City, a tense interrogation in a darkened warehouse, and a fiery final shot of Alejandro standing amid burning vehicles, guitar music echoing through the smoke.

Thematically, the film appears to expand beyond the U.S.–Mexico border, tackling the global cartel network and how power structures adapt to every attempt at control. Director Sollima has hinted that this installment will serve as “a reckoning” — not just for the characters, but for the systems that created them.

The closing moments of the trailer hit hard: Alejandro, walking through the ruins of a cartel compound, pauses as the voice of Kate Macer says:

“You can’t fight darkness by becoming it.”
To which he replies:
“Then maybe I was born for it.”

That line — delivered in del Toro’s chilling calm — perfectly encapsulates the tone of the film: a tragic descent into moral ambiguity where right and wrong dissolve in the smoke of warfare.

With a powerhouse cast, razor-sharp writing, and visceral direction, Sicario 3 (2024) promises to be a brutal, thought-provoking conclusion to one of modern cinema’s most gripping trilogies.
