NEW JERSEY, USA — GOP candidate Jack Ciattarelli announced his “day one” strategy if he becomes governor of New Jersey during a live television appearance with Sean Hannity: immediately end sanctuary cities and the cashless bail system.

“Executive order number one, on day one, no town in this state will be a sanctuary city, we will not be a sanctuary state,” he told a crowd in Point Pleasant, drawing applause. Ciattarelli explained that these policies hamper local police and encourage crime. He pledged to allow police to cooperate with federal agencies to protect public safety.

He also criticized his opponent, Mikie Sherrill, for refusing to release her disciplinary record related to the Naval Academy cheating scandal, calling it a “pattern of concealment.” Ciattarelli stressed that major decisions in the state can be reversed by executive order at a moment’s notice, and he believes New Jersey is ready for a change in political tone.
