Donald Trump is threatening his own party and well, his own party is threatening him back. For every Republican Donald Trump fires, one also quits on him, condemns him, turns on him, and seeks to stop his plans, whether it be foreign wars, the militarization of our cities. Uh, tariffs levied for Trump’s own financial gain and corruption.
Republicans are quickly flipping on Donald Trump and it has him flipping out, especially on Truth Social where he posted just a complete meltdown that we are going to get into. But it starts with a lot of news today of Republicans coming out against Donald Trump as they threaten not just to push back against him, but the potential impeachment and disaster that it would cause.
And like I said, Republicans flipping on Donald Trump left and right. It starts with a Republican who dropped out of the guminatorial race in Minnesota today. He went on CNN and what he had to say I think really colors this moment in which the whole party has turned on Donald Trump before we get into how he threatens them and the impeachment awaiting Trump.
You talked about um at the end of the day I have to look my daughters in the eye and tell them I believe I did what was right. Um you know I’m a parent so many people watching are. But tell me um about why it was so important for your daughters to see you do this, Chris. When I look at my daughters, uh, I want them like every other parent, I I want I want them to have a better life than I did, but I also want them to know that I’m leading by example.
And when I want them to know that it doesn’t matter what the color of your skin is, it it doesn’t matter where you came from. We need to treat everybody with a measure of humanity. And that’s what it really means to be an American. That’s what we are. We are a nation of immigrants. And when we’re treating United States citizens for they’re hiding in their homes right now in in Minnesota.
They’re afraid to go outside. We have United States citizens because of their color of their skin are carrying papers, their passport with them, pictures of their passport because they’re afraid of being picked up by the federal government. That is antithetical to everything our country is about. Literally everything.
And I want my daughters to know that I stood up and said no. It’s far important to me that I said no to this than I become the Republican gubanatorial candidate, you know, and and see my name in lights with respect to that. There are some things that are far more important than than just running for office. And I needed them to know that.
So that was Chris Maidell, who we covered in a previous video. and his statement, I thought honestly sounded like something that a Democrat would be putting out right now, which just kind of goes to show the panic state that Republicans are in. But they understand how politically toxic Donald Trump is.
And I think this is what we are starting to see a lot of people wake up to. And for me, it is interesting that we only see kind of these a-olitical actors or people who like to say that they’re not involved in politics or don’t care about politics to be speaking up, especially during these ICE attacks. The last time I can remember the universal condemnation of Donald Trump at this level or people getting involved, sharing information, uh, calling for congressional action was when Donald Trump was sending ICE and the National Guard to attack Los
Angeles. This is an issue that uniquely triggers people to get involved in their community. And it is important not just because it is an issue that Donald Trump believes would continue to pay dividends for him politically, but because now that it’s not, it is an opportunity for Democrats to overtake it and not just push back against Donald Trump, but to present affirmative an affirmative vision of how we talk about immigration in this country.
It’s so bad for Donald Trump that even Republicans like Greg Abbott are recognizing it. Yeah. It’s Greg Abbott who’s going after Trump along with other Republicans along with the impeachment threats. And of course, we’re going to get to that post. Greg Abbott says ICE needs to recalibrate mission after deadly Minnesota shooting. It takes a lot.
It takes a lot to the NRA and Greg Abbott and other major conservative forces in this country against the Trump administration and the way they’re doing immigration enforcement. The first amendment, the second amendment, and the fourth amendment have all been violated by the way that they are carrying this out. And people saw it clear as day, and that’s why they responded this way.
And the president, who I think most of the time has better instincts than Steven Miller or Christine Gnome, could see this for what it was and knows that there has to be a change in course. But Greg Abbott, the NRA, are you serious? Yeah. Donald Trump is losing losing support across the board. And it is why he is panicking.
It is why he is scrambling. It is why he is threatening Thomas Massie as Donald Trump gets threats of his own of what’s to come for the rest of his administration. Trump loses it at ineffective loser Republican and 300word tirade. Donald Trump has unleashed a furious 300word tirade against the GOP dissident who forced the release of the Jeffrey Epstein files.
The 79year-old president lashed out at Kentucky Rep. Thomas Massie and a recycled Truth Social post on Monday, calling him a totally ineffective loser and endorsing his GOP challenger. I am asking all MAGA warriors to rally behind Captain Ed Gowin, the candidate who is far and away the best position to defeat third rate Congressman Thomas Massie, a weak and pathetic rhino from the beautiful Commonwealth of Kentucky, a place I love and one big all three times,” Trump ranted.
The president further claimed that the people in Massiey’s northern Kentucky district want desperately to get rid of the congressman who he only votes against the Republican party, making life very easy for the radical left. Massie is not the only one warning Donald Trump of the doom to come. Because in leaked audio, as we’ve reported, Ted Cruz says that he told Trump that Trump is going to lose the House, the Senate, and get impeached every single week.
And of course, Trump responded, “F you, Ted.” So, Donald Trump is attacking his own party. Donald Trump is threatening Republicans. Donald Trump is saying that the Democrats are going to take over. And Ted Cruz agrees that the Democrats are going to take over, that they’re going to impeach Donald Trump unless he course corrects.
And Donald Trump isn’t going to course correct. And even if he did, the damage has been done. This is going to be a midterms wipeout. Really, and I don’t want to oversell this because we still have to work. What these midterms come down to is whether or not Democrats retake the Senate or not. Right.
That is what we are fighting for. We need to expand the House as much as humanly possible. Absolutely. But when it comes to flipping chambers, I am focused mostly on the Senate. It is why we need Democrats to win competitive and important primaries. We just talked to Graham Platner. Obviously, Peggy Flanigan is in a bit of a safer safer seat there in Minnesota, but we absolutely need her in the Senate.
You’re talking about someone like Abdul Alsed. These are people that we need to take advantage of how unpopular Trump is, run real progressive campaigns, and not just talk about a message that is anti-Trump, anti-Trump, anti-Trump, but is actually affirmative in the beliefs of progressives who want to fight for something different.
And we should be doing that in a moment in which ICE is so damn unpopular. Yeah, I’m not really surprised that President Trump is sending Tom Hman in because ICE, DHS, Christine Nome have been a political disaster. Because just take a look here. I mean, ISIS’s net approval rating during Trump’s terms. You go back to term number one.
Look, it was it’s pretty even at zero points. You go to June 2025, right? That was when all that uh stuff was going on in Los Angeles. They dropped down. Look at this. Minus7 points way in the basement. But then after Minneapolis, it’s even lower. Minus 27 points on the net approval rating of ICE. Of course, this all being done under Christy Gnome.
So, no. What’s going on in Minneapolis is not popular at all. What’s been going on during this second term under ICE, under the Trump administration, under Christ has very much not been popular and it’s only be getting more and more unpopular. Um, what about DHS kind of more broadly? Yeah. Okay.
So, you know, we’re going to start down low. We’ll start with ICE and then we’ll raise it to DHS. And again, it’s just the same exact story, right? DHS is doing an excellent or good job. The Department of Homeland Security during Trump’s first term, look where it was in late 2017, right? right around this point 59%.
That’s pretty gosh darn good. But look at where it is now in Trump term number two. By late last year it was down to 42%. So this is the same story that we’re seeing no matter which poll question we look at the popularity of ICE of DHS has completely fallen under the second Trump term. second Trump administration where why what we were seeing during Trump’s term number one was hey ICE DHS pretty popular certainly not unpopular but all the actions in Minneapolis in Los Angeles in these major American cities have been very much rejected by the American
people it has been a political disaster for the second Trump administration and well and now I mean as Burman was just reading what the president was just sending out he’s now sending in Tom Holman his borders are into min Minnesota which h leads to questions of what about the leadership of the Secretary of Homeland Security who has inserted herself very publicly uh to be kind of front and center in all of these operations.
Yeah, I I as I said at the top I just think there’s a real reason for it and as because Christine Gnome Simply Cook has not been popular and everything she’s done for the most part has not been popular. I mean just look at her net approval rating in July of 2025. It was minus 11 points. It’s actually gotten more unpopular now at minus 16 points.
I looked at every single poll that has been conducted on Christine Gnome’s popularity. Every single one, the net approval rating has been negative. ICE is negative. DHS is negative. As I said at the top, Kate, this has been an absolute political disaster for the president of the United States. It’s not much of a surprise to me if he wants to push Gnome to the side, Kate.
Well, which and and and remember this is one of the things broadly speaking about immigration and his crackdown of it was something he ran on and won on when it came to the last election. So, what a shift in changes has been. Let’s see what else the president says today, Harry. These these numbers really tell a story today. Thank you.
Thank you.It is truly a collapse for Donald Trump and he is seeing his administration fall apart. This is the issue that he said would win him every election to come. Right. He said it won in the 2024 election. He said it would carry him into the midterms. He said this is the issue that Republicans should care about. It’s the border.
And he squandered it. And he’s squandering members of his administration. We know Greg Bovino’s out. Hopefully Christy Noom is next. For more context on that, I think Ari Melbour gave a a great breakdown right here. And you might say, well, what does valid ICE enforcement have to do with local authority over elections? And the answer is nothing. Nothing valid here.
Sometimes we tell you stories that have two or more sides. This isn’t one of those stories. And there is no precedent for the federal government offering to use or withhold armed federal agents in order to get voter roles. So, a judge is now reviewing this sort of electoral angle from Trump’s DOJ to assess the Minnesota objection that Bondi is trying to pull off a shakeddown, a ransom.
You’ll notice the common theme here. We are at a point where it takes Republicans in public after whatever they tried to say in private or meekly to Trump’s aids and officials. And he is getable by phone. He is that kind of president. People reach him more than some other ones. Whatever they said in private didn’t work.
So you have Republicans in public saying shooting Americans is bad. You have the Wall Street Journal saying shooting Americans is bad. You have now the Trump administration saying, “Hey, we’re trying to work with walls. We’re pulling these other people back.” But they have yet to even verbally get to the point to agree shooting Americans is bad, acknowledging that.
and perhaps some baseline empathy for this family and the other family and all the other people scared in Minnesota, which would still only be a first step to saying if you acknowledge it is bad to kill Americans whether or not it rises to the level of a crime, then what do you do to prevent that from continuing to happen? This is the state of the Trump administration and I’m loving every second of it and we’re going to cover it on this show.
