Press Secretary Leavitt sparked mass controversy yesterday when she claimed that the Democratic Party’s main constituency is “Hamas terrorists, illegal aliens, and violent criminals,” which is absolutely hysterical nonsense that any reasonable or rational American knows isn’t true.
Jeffries responded to her comments and the general Trumpian demonization of the Democratic Party, telling the press that “it’s a matter of deep concern. Like we’ve already seen a rise in political violence and hatred in America. And then you’ve got swastikas apparently appearing in the offices of Republican members of Congress.
You’ve got young Republicans engaging in the most anti-Semitic and racist speech possible. Like this is apparently who many of these people are. They are ripping the sheets off in plain view of the American people. Their words, their actions, reveal themselves in so many different ways.”
Then he went for the jugular on Trump’s Liar-in-Chief. “And then you’ve got Karolin Leavitt, who’s sick. She’s out of control. And I’m not sure whether she’s just demented, ignorant, a stone-cold liar, or all of the above. But the notion that an official White House spokesperson would say that the Democratic Party consists of terrorists, violent criminals, and undocumented immigrants. This makes no sense.”
“This is what the American people are getting from the Trump administration in the middle of a shutdown. So their actions continue to speak for themselves, which is why they’re on the wrong side of public sentiment!” finished Jeffries.
This absolutely insane statement from Leavitt and other Republicans about the Democrats reeks of desperation. They know they have no room to stand on, nothing based in reality to cling to, so they are trying as hard as they can to manufacture a fake narrative that has no chance of sticking.
There are tens of millions of Democrats in this country. Many of them are the neighbors of MAGA people, and they know that though they may have their differences, Clarence across the street isn’t a criminal or loves Hamas or whatever. We need to keep calling out their lies every chance we get — and offer a contrasting narrative of how Democrats are fighting to protect their healthcare. That’s how we break through the insanity
