DETROIT, MICHIGAN — Progressive congresswoman Rashida Tlaib, a leading member of “The Squad” who often rails against corporate greed and income inequality, is now facing scrutiny after campaign filings revealed more than $36,000 spent on luxury limousine services over the past year.
According to Federal Election Commission (FEC) records reviewed by Fox News Digital, Tlaib’s campaign made dozens of payments between October 2024 and September 2025 to Aline Luxury Limo Services, a Detroit-area company that advertises itself as providing “an upscale experience at an affordable price.”
The filings list payments ranging from $118 to $1,326 per trip, with most transactions categorized under “travel” or “transportation.”
“For someone who preaches about fighting for the working class, it’s hard to square that message with thousands of dollars spent on black cars and chauffeurs,” said one Michigan political strategist who spoke to Fox News Digital on background.
A “Luxury for the People” Moment?
While the limo company itself has minimal public information, a now-defunct website linked to the same business address described chauffeured rides, classic limousines, and modern SUVs catering to high-end clients — a far cry from the populist image Tlaib projects on Capitol Hill.
The Michigan Democrat, the first Palestinian-born woman ever elected to Congress, has built her national reputation on attacking wealth inequality and denouncing America’s “rigged economy.”
Just last month, Tlaib partnered with Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) to introduce the “Tax Excessive CEO Pay Act,” aiming to cap executive pay and “take on corporate greed.”
In a fiery statement announcing the bill, Tlaib blasted big corporations for paying CEOs “290 times more than their average worker,” calling the gap “disgraceful” and “a symptom of moral decay.”
Yet, for critics, these new spending revelations paint a different picture.
“It’s limousine liberalism, plain and simple,” said a former Democratic aide. “You can’t preach socialism on stage and then roll up to the rally in a stretch SUV.”

Fox News Digital reached out to Tlaib’s campaign multiple times for comment but received no response.
Meanwhile, watchdog groups have begun questioning whether such repeated luxury travel expenses align with campaign finance regulations or with Tlaib’s own rhetoric about “serving the people, not the privileged.”
The controversy also comes as Tlaib faces renewed backlash in Washington, including a pending House censure motion over her comments regarding the Gaza conflict and accusations from former aides that she has “abandoned her constituents for activism.”
The Optics Problem
Tlaib has long criticized Republicans and the wealthy for what she calls “acts of violence against working families” through tax cuts and defense spending.
However, the revelation that her campaign funneled tens of thousands into limousine services could hand her opponents a powerful talking point as the 2026 election cycle looms.
“The optics are brutal,” said one political communications analyst. “You can’t shout about wealth inequality while riding around like a CEO.”
