BREAKING NEWS: Baltimore Ravens Star Reveals “Extremely Humbling” Conversation with DeAndre Hopkins.NO.1

The Baltimore Ravens are loaded with Super Bowl aspirations, and the arrival of future Hall of Fame wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins has only fueled the fire. But it’s not just Hopkins’ undeniable talent turning heads in Charm City; it’s his shocking humility that has star cornerback Marlon Humphrey buzzing after a truly “extremely humbling” conversation.

Hopkins, a former Clemson standout, arrives in Baltimore on a one-year deal, joining his third team in as many seasons after stints with the Tennessee Titans and a Super Bowl run with the Kansas City Chiefs in 2024. Despite his constant movement, Hopkins has consistently made an impact, and he’s already impressing his new Ravens teammates on both sides of the ball.

Four-time Pro Bowler and two-time first-team All-Pro Marlon Humphrey recently shed light on an illuminating exchange with the five-time Pro Bowler and three-time first-team All-Pro wideout. Humphrey, known for his lockdown coverage against the league’s best, recalled asking Hopkins about his impressions of the Ravens.

“I like D-Hop. I’ve gotten to have some conversations with him. He is ‘Mr. Contested Catch.’ That is for sure. Just having a conversation with him, I thought it was really humbling,” Humphrey revealed during a recent press conference.

But it was Hopkins’ response that truly struck a chord. Humphrey recounted, “We asked him — me and one of the strength coaches — ‘What do you think about the team from the outside looking in since you’ve been on other teams?’ And he said, ‘It seems like there’s been a piece that’s been missing. I could be that addition. I could not be that addition.’”

For Humphrey, hearing such a candid, self-aware assessment from a veteran of Hopkins’ caliber was profound. “To hear a veteran guy, All-Pro guy, Pro Bowl guy say he could be, or he could not be [the piece that’s missing], to me, that was extremely humbling. I feel that he fits the Ravens mold, and I think he’ll fit right in.”

At 33 years old, Hopkins boasts a Hall of Fame-caliber resume: 984 receptions, 12,965 yards, and 83 touchdowns across his storied career. Last season with the Chiefs, he hauled in 41 receptions for 437 yards and four scores in 10 regular-season games, adding a crucial touchdown in Super Bowl LIX.

Hopkins’ blend of elite skill and unexpected humility could be the perfect ingredient for a Ravens team hungry for a championship. If “Mr. Contested Catch” truly is the missing piece, Baltimore’s Super Bowl aspirations just got a major boost.
